More are pending but this is the only absolute number that can be given.
I was really going to rip this to shreads, but it seems speaks for itself.
All I can say is that as long as that fool is allowed to stay at the helm, this number shall only grow.

In an interview on NBC-TV’s “Today” show, Mr. Bush …suggested an all-out victory against terrorism might not be possible. Asked “Can we win?” Mr. Mr. Bush said, “I don’t think you can win it.”

This is simply more of the same old routine from the President. All you have to do is listen to the words from his own mouth and you'll see he has absolutely no idea what he's doing.
Oh and I thought Kerry was the "Flip-Flop"?

WASHINGTON -- Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown is being relieved of his command of the Bush administration's Hurricane Katrina onsite relief efforts, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced Friday.

He will be replaced by Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad W. Allen, who was overseeing New Orleans relief and rescue efforts, Chertoff said.

Statement made by Barbara Bush in an interview with the radio program MARKETPLACE on September 5th, 2005.

"And what I'm hearing here, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here were underprivileged anyway, so this-this is working very well from them"

It's unfortunate anyone would have to take the time and address a misguided statement made by someone who should know better. Barbara Bush's age and wisdom are not compatible as evidenced by her crude statement. Any individual who has had the good fortune to have been on this Earth for as long as Barbara Bush should be able to asses with the ease the gravity of the predicament we find the victims of Katrina in.

Many of the victim's family trees date back to before there was a bill of rights or constitution. There are people who lived in established neighborhoods and whose families have known each other for many, many generations. Their sons and daughter have fought in every war before and since the United States became a country. They have earned the right to be respected as every other American citizen, rich or poor.

The point is that, the individuals lives that have been disrupted are not better off living in shelters. They were better off living in their own neighborhoods. Just as Barbara Bush is better off in her own neighborhood and not living in a very nice and cozy old folks home. Barbara Bush's statement that people who now live in shelters are better off certainly, at best, shows the mind of a detached individual.

[I can't help but notice that the people who had to leave the hurricane effected areas are constantly being reffered to as refugees.
The word is being used incorrectly.

my dictionary (Websters) defines refugees as:

One who flees from home or country, as in a time of war, or political or religious persecution.

I just wanted to clear that up]

Bush figured the money had...better uses

[ In what realm of reality does it make sense to cut 44 % from the New orlean flood control after all these studies? And for what? The "war" (and I DO use that word loosely) In Iraq? Just another example of brilliance from our commander in chief.
Why has Bush been allowed to get away with this? Years were given to prepare for this and all he did was ADD to the problem. He's busy scaring fools with fictional weapons of mass destruction and impending doom while 100,000 are home less in the south and countless 1000's are dead.]
